December 2017 – Rocky Gets His MACH

Rocky

On December 17, 2017, at the TCVESSA agility trail at On The Run, under judge Dawn Glaser-Faulk, Sandy Creek’s Rock My World got his MACH. Big
thanks to Fusion Training Center and my instructor, Michael Teh. It has been a wonderful journey, and a fantastic first agility dog! Some day we may finish our OTCH, but for now we’re having too much fun running!

Owned and Trained by Carol Arthur!
Rocky’s Sire is Wann Be Man in Black (a.k.a. Trooper)
Rocky’s Dam is Sandy Creek’s Debonair (a.k.a. Shalay)

Rocky turns 3 on June 25th. Happy Birthday!
Over the weekend of June 18, 19 we competed in our first ASCA agility trial, under judge Sue Graham.
This was supposed to be practice for the upcoming AKC agility nationals in Georgia next March.
We entered in Elite Gamblers, Jumpers, and Regular.
We Q’d in 6 out of 10 runs!

We also received High in Trial for “Other Breed” dogs at the trial.
ASCA was a great time, and I will be showing at their trials again.
We are also working on getting UDX legs when we’re not running agility.
His son Chip sure has a lot to live up to!!

Affectionately known as “Rocky”.

This guy, who is turning 2 on the 25th of June, has been rocking my world since he came into my life. He has got the strongest work ethic, and wants to be with me and do whatever it is I ask. Not only has he gotten so many AKC titles in his short life, but he has done it with too many placings to mention.

As a puppy he got his WCRL titles through level 3 by the time he was 13 months. Too many placings to mention. He is over halfway through his RAE title, with 6 legs so far. Many placings. His latest title was in open obedience. He got his three legs in three straight shows, with scores of 194, 196, and 197. Rocky is almost ready for utility, and is currently working on getting me through open agility. He is also helping my 5 year old granddaughter learn how to run agility and do obedience. Yes, he is doing it for her. And the joy on her face when they are running is amazing to watch!

A special Thank You to Wanda Alsleben at Sandy Creek Aussies for her matching me with this dog. She didn’t know who I was, and still gave me the dog that I needed.

Also, Sharon Anderson at Animal Inn Dog Training in Lake Elmo for the obedience training that made Rocky shine in the ring.

Not to be outdone, a round of Thanks as well to Annalise Allen at Agile Canines for giving me the help and instruction I needed for agility.

I am humbled by this dog, and all he does for me and with me. He is truly a once in a life time dog, and I just hope I am worthy enough to have him with me on this journey we are embarking on.

A BIG CONGRATULATIONS goes out to Carol and Rocky for all of your accomplishments in such a small amount of time. You are a wonderful team, and we will keep watching for you in the show ring. I couldn’t be more proud of you both. BEST OF LUCK TO YOU!!!!!!

Started in Herding
Working on Excellent Titles in Agility
Working on UDX in Obedience
Qualified for Rally Championship Trial

This dog “Rocky” has the drive and desire to please. We have had eight formal agility lessons. The rest of our learning has been in the backyard with homemade equipment. Neither of us has ever done agility before, but together we are enjoying this wonderful journey., We started competing in March for our novice titles, and are now working on excellent in titles. Next year we are going to set our goals a little higher and qualify for the National Agility Championship scheduled for March of 2017.

Rocky will also be training and proofing to begin competing for his OTCH.

We hope to also show in our first herding trial for his herding instinct certification.

SANDY CREEK’S ROCK MY WORLD owned by Carol Arthur received his CD and rally excellent title over the weekend of February 7th . He also got his WCRL level 3 title at the age of 13 months in 9 straight shows. Congratulations Carol on doing such a wonderful job with Rocky !!!

Rocky is ranked #2 nationally in WCRL rally, level 3 for 2014

May 12, 2014

Hi Wanda,

I finally got his pictures from the WCRL rally shows.

He got his title in three straight shows! Out of 210 possible points he got 210, 209, and 206 on his way to 3 first place ribbons! Puppy rally is just like novice rally, only with 10 stations instead of 18-20.

Rocky has always been an easy dog to work with. The biggest problem I have is that he constantly wants to go out and "work" on obedience, or rally, or agility. He is always in my face when I am trying to play on computer, eat, or watch TV. He is really happiest when he’s thinking. Next up may just be herding!
